Allelogamy
In the long term, 1plus2 wishes to introduce a new legal form of marriage that allows for the marriage of more than two partners. In contrast to polygamous legal forms, in which a man marries several women (polygyny) or a woman has several husbands (polyandry), 1plus2 advocates a legal form in which more than two people can marry one another. This form of marriage could only take place if all the people involved exchange vows with one another. 1plus2 calls this form of marriage ‘allelogamy’, derived from the Greek allêlôn, ‘mutual’ (or ‘one another’), and gamos, ‘marriage’.
